Clean Oral Care, Naturally

Traditional toothpaste and oral care products have a lot of harsh chemicals to eradicate bad bacteria, also often wiping out good bacteria in the process.

Enter, GEM.

Your go-to toxin-free toothpaste, made with you in mind. Instead of detonating our mouths with a combination of chemicals, we’ve formulated a renowned ingredients list for our hero range, which includes an oral probiotic toothpaste - a first in Australian natural oral care. Not only are we natural, but we are vegan and cruelty free toothpaste too!

Our mission is to balance the oral microbiome naturally, and protect against tooth decay. A brighter and whiter smile, that doesn’t cost the planet - or your health.

“So many products on the market today contain harsh preservatives and antimicrobial ingredients that deplete the beneficial bacteria that we need for dental and upper respiratory health.” - Dr Lewis Ehrlich.

Your mouth holds an exponential amount of good and bad bacteria, which we know plays a vital role in your overall health and wellbeing - through the gut and mouth connection. It’s important to know what’s nurturing this essential microbiome ecosystem, and what’s hindering it…

So, let’s break it down...

What’s in?

Probiotic

Works by repopulating the oral microbiome with beneficial bacteria that promotes dental, immune and upper respiratory health, while crowding out the bad bacteria that cause bad breath, cavities and periodontal disease.

Non – Nano Hydroxyapatite (Omyadent)

This biocompatible compound is made up of the same material as tooth enamel, making it a safe remineralization and restorative ingredient loved by our Dentists. Particles penetrate below the surface of the enamel, providing replacement calcium and phosphate ions to areas where minerals have dissolved. This means teeth become harder and stronger, while the tooth’s surface becomes smoother and whiter.

Sodium Bicarbonate

A great alkalizer, helping to neutralize acids in the mouth. This wonder ingredient can penetrate layers of plaque and break down bad bacteria. Reduce your surface stains with ease and enjoy your morning cup of coffee.

Calcium Clycerophosphate

Mined from the earth, we use this natural mineral as a mild abrasive to help prevent plaque build-up, remove surface stains and whiten and polish teeth. It offers a gentle clean, without scratching or damaging the tooth’s enamel. More than that, it neutralizes acid to prevent demineralization.

What’s out (Say sayonara!)

SLS

This little foaming agent does more damage than good. SLS irritates the mouth and strips away the lining, which can lead to irritation and organ toxicity. This surfactant interferes with the functioning of your taste buds and has been exposed in academic studies for its use as an insecticide.

Triclosan

If this pesticide has been banned by the Food and Drug Administration in soap and body wash, why are we still using it in our mouths? This detonator wipes out both good and bad bacteria in your mouth, imbalancing your microbiome, leading to a multitude of negative impacts on your oral and overall health. Learn more about this chemical’s link to antibiotic resistance and endocrine disruption.

Titanium Dioxide

Evidence suggests that some nanoparticles in the inorganic chemical compound - titanium dioxide -may induce toxic effects in your brain and cause nerve damage and some may be carcinogenic.

MAKE THE SWITCH

Many of the chemicals found in toothpaste have been linked to skin disorders, rashes, sores, hormonal changes and even breast cancer. Among the top ingredients to avoid due to their carcinogenic and/or endocrine disruptive effects: titanium dioxide; parabens, proplybaraben, methylparaben; toxic-to-humans triclosan and SLS or sulfate.

The mouth is extremely absorbent, and we swallow between 800 - 2000 times a day. You are delivering multiple doses of toxins directly into your body every time you brush. Though it might not seem like much, the cumulative effects can be health destroying, so why take the risk?

You wouldn’t put these ingredients on your face, so don’t put them in your mouth.

Smile, the future of oral care is here.
